Active in the Caribbean with fun adventures and activities

Behind the Caribbean's tranquil beauty lies a fascinating and diverse ecosystem, a vibrant culture and plenty of activities such as rainforest canopy rides, ziplining and hiking, rib boat rides, river tubing, stand up paddleboarding (SUP), volcano treks, rainforest walks, biking, off-road 4x4 excursions and ATV tours. Go horseback riding, birdwatching, deep sea fishing, mangrove kayaking, SNUBA diving, sailing, snorkelling and Scuba diving.

There are botanical gardens to visit, wildlife adventure to be experienced - such as spotting whales and dolphins, swimming with turtles, and snorkelling with stingrays. There are excellent golf courses to play, Segways to ride, small yachts and luxury catamarans to charter. More extreme adventures in the region include activities such as white water rafting, canyoning, kayaking, off-road mountain biking, and caving.

Caribbean wildlife adventure... blue dragons, snoring frogs, red howlers and swimming pigs

The Caribbean has one of the most varied and well-preserved ecosystems on the planet so why not discover the region's wildlife to make your vacation even more memorable. Wildlife holidays, excursions and tours can offer wonderful opportunities to discover unusual Caribbean wildlife - from blue dragons, green monkeys, white-tailed deer, brown boobies and red howlers to chirping tree frogs, parrot fish, upside-down jellyfish, bee-sized birds and whistling ducks. Migratory bird traffic through the Caribbean is vast, marine life is rich, and there are myriad lizards of all shapes and sizes. Lush tropical rainforests are home to a rich diversity of fauna including opossums, mongooses, nine-banded armadillos and a variety of monkeys.

More wildlife... turtle conservation, birdwatching, and volunteering to help with eco and wildlife projects

You could perhaps join a turtle patrol in St Kitts, go on a crocodile safari, go birding in Costa Rica, volunteer to help with eco projects, work on a wildlife conservation project in the Caribbean, or even sign up for a grown-up gap year in Central America. Your wildlife choices are numerous.

Caribbean special interest vacations: learn to sail, sing, dance or cook

'Learn to' holidays are increasingly popular activities in the Caribbean: for instance you can learn to sail in Antigua, learn to Scuba dive in the Bahamas, join a group on a singing holiday in Barbados or learn how to salsa in Havana. Special interest holiday activities available in the region include cooking courses, PADI diving courses, the opportunity to crew in high performance yacht racing events and to relax in Yoga retreats.

Caribbean cruise ships with climbing walls, water slides, surf simulators, and adventure excursions from cruise terminals

There are Caribbean cruise ships that feature adventure activities on board such as surf simulators and climbing walls, and at many ports of call you will find that cruise ships offer a variety of half-day or full-day adventure excursions. Some cruise ships even have their own cycling and biking tour operator on board, so you can be ready to go as soon as you arrive at the port of call.
