Grenada adventure and activities at a glance
The island is a popular starting destination for a Grenada adventure sailing in the Grenadines, the island is also known as the ‘Spice Island’ because of its home-grown spices – mainly nutmegs, mace, cloves, cinnamon and ginger.
Grenada hosts a number of international regattas, and there are many trekking and hiking trails through the lush rainforest and National Park as well as many exciting shipwreck dive sites for scuba divers.
So, obviously, diving, snorkelling and sailing is very popular, as is hiking in the Grand Etang National Park. You can also go mountain biking, whale and dolphin spotting, river tubing, kayaking, sport fishing charters, deep sea fishing and drift party fishing.
There are tropical and botanic gardens to visit, spices estate tours, and guided hiking tours to and swim in waterfalls. There is a Grenada dove sanctuary, birdwatching opportunities, 4×4 island tours, sailing schools, National Parks and eco sites.
Catamaran whale and dolphin spotting expeditions are thrilling, as are RIB eco boat tours on Grenada West Coast – these tours include historical, geographical, and eco information en route. ).
There is a really interesting and surreal underwater sculpture park – suitable for both diving and snorkelling.
