St Kitts wildlife
Regretfully St Kitts wildlife, as on its sister island Nevis, is not impressive. St Kitts & Nevis, officially named “The Federation of Saint Christopher and Nevis”, are very close to each other geographically and have virtually the same wildlife and marine life.
Wildlife consists of donkeys, cows, goats, black-bellied sheep, deer, mongooses, several species of bat, deer (St Kitts), and vervet monkeys – introduced to the island by settlers. Early in the morning or late in the afternoon, away from the developed areas of the island, is a good time to see these green vervet monkeys.
