St Vincent wildlife (including the Grenadines wildlife)
Unfortunately the St Vincent wildlife has been affected over the years by numerous volcano eruptions as well as deforestation.
The wildlife you will see in the region includes the Lesser Antillean whistling frog, cane toad, lizards and geckos, tree anole, and the common iguana. There are also a few species of bat.
St Vincent & The Grenadines birdlife
More than 150 species of birds have been recorded in St Vincent and the Grenadines (that’s including resident and migratory birds); there are 76 species of waterbirds. Birds include the rare St Vincent parrot and the endemic whistling warbler, frigatebirds, egrets, white-tailed tropicbirds, terns, boobies, herons, maybe a glossy ibis, and pigeons. You may also encounter the Antillean crested hummingbird, Lesser Antillean Tanager, purple-throated Carib, and the rufous-throated solitaire as well as the osprey and house wren.

Marine life around St Vincent & The Grenadines
In the waters of St Vincent & The Grenadines are turtles (Loggerhead, Green, Leatherback), Kingfish, barracuda, manatees, and several species of whales and dolphins. Diving is very good in these waters, you’ll enjoy the marine life, so here’s just a sample – nurse sharks, golden hamlet, jacks, trumpetfish, longsnout seahorses, blennies, gobies, spotted snake eels, yellowhead jawfish, southern rays, goldentail moray eels, longlure frogfish, frogfish, porcelain two-spot octopus, three-spoted scorpionfish, sharptail eels, crabs, shrimps, flying gurnards, razorfish, and the rare red-banded lobster…
