Caribbean River Tubing

Caribbean river tubing & Central America cave tubing

If you’ve not tried Caribbean river tubing before… try it – it really makes you laugh! River tubing can be meek and mild or wet and wild, depending whether you are visiting the Caribbean during the rainy season and how much rain has fallen. It depends how much water is coming off the mountains. As well as your swimming gear, take a towel, sun block and shoes suitable to wear in water as there are rocks in the river

Before you get into your giant rubber ring (usually a special river tubing ring or modified “inner tube”) on the river you should have a safety briefing and a life vest and helmet. Your Caribbean river tubing adventure should also be accompanied and your guide will help keep you on the straight and narrow. The rubber rings spin and swirl as the river meanders through tropical vegetation – it’s FUN.

River tubing in Dominica

Often referred to as the “Nature Island”, unspoilt Dominica is fast getting a reputation as also being an adventure island. This Caribbean river tubing adventure on the Layou River in Dominica is usually combined with a visit to a waterfall, during the journey the guides usually tell visitors about the island. You’ll spend over an hour on the river, have a paddle to help you navigate through the water, and make a pit stop to enjoy a bathe in the river. Your reward – a rum punch

Grenada river tubing

Enjoy views of tropical flora and fauna as you travel down the river sitting in an enormous “inner tube”. In Grenada the Caribbean river tubing takes place on a river in a large private estate. Disembarkation is at the last sheltered pool on the river where a short walk through a shaded Heliconia plantation leads to the return base. The walk through the tropical flora “tunnel” is an exquisite hue of green, dotted with vibrant red blooms and dappled golf sunlight. A rum punch will probably be waiting!

River tubing in Jamaica

The scenic Rio Bueno is the location for this Caribbean river tubing adventure, and you’ll end up in Bengal Bay with time to swim in the sea. You and your inner tube will be launched off from Irie Bridge and float downstream before a mid-adventure stop. There’s a rope swing for added fun and time to take a swim before moving on.

Belize caves river tubing

The river tubing adventure in Belize is an exciting experience. There are two different adventures – one gentle float, suitable for children and not as long as the River of Caves option. This cave tubing option covers more than seven miles underground, but you will have a head lamp provided. Prepare to be amazed… expect stalagmites and stalactites, underground waterfalls and awesome caves.

Costa Rica tubing

The river tubing adventure on offer on the Chagres River includes a visit to a village of the Embera Indians, a trip in a dugout canoe, tackling a number of rapids on the way to the starting point – rapids which you’ll be tackling on the way back in your river tube.

Panama river tubing

Go river tubing in style on the Rio Piedra in Panama – the posh inflatable tubes here have got a built-in cooler and, if you don’t want to go it alone, you can hitch yourself to your river tubing mates. There are rope swings and deep pools to enjoy located along the river.
